Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how affiBox PlayCam (“PlayCam”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, dashboard, mobile app, and live-streaming relay (the “Service”). affiBox PlayCam is operated by affiBox, based in Puerto Rico, United States. Contact us any time at [email protected].
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Facebook or Google, we receive your name, email address, and the provider’s account identifier instead of a password.
Connected-channel credentials
When you connect a Facebook or YouTube (Google) channel, you authorize PlayCam to create and manage live broadcasts on your behalf. We store the access and refresh tokens the platform issues, encrypted at rest, and use them only to start, manage, and end the live broadcasts you initiate.
Stream content
Video and audio you publish flow through our relay to the destinations you choose, and a master copy may be recorded to your account’s storage for playback and highlights.
Score & event metadata
The score and game-event timeline you create during a stream is stored with your recording so the Service can sync, display, and generate clips and highlights from it.
Generated media
The Service may automatically create clips, highlights, reels, thumbnails, and captions derived from your streams and recordings; these are stored in your account.
Technical data
We collect basic technical information needed to operate the Service, such as IP address, device/encoder details, session cookies, and request logs.
2. How we use information
- To create and operate your account and authenticate you.
- To create, manage, and end the live broadcasts you start on your connected channels.
- To relay your stream to the destinations you select and to record your master copy.
- To automatically generate clips, highlights, reels, and captions from your streams and score data using automated and AI systems, and to make them available to you.
- To contact you about content we have created for you and about features available on paid plans.
- To provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service and to communicate with you about it.
Some processing uses machine-learning and AI systems to detect moments, generate media, and improve our features. We may use your content and metadata to operate, develop, and improve the Service. We do not sell your content.
3. Data from Facebook and Google/YouTube
PlayCam uses the Facebook Graph API and the YouTube Data API solely to deliver streaming features you request. With your permission we access only what is needed to: read your basic profile (name, email) for sign-in, and create/manage/stop live broadcasts on your Facebook profile and YouTube channel. We do not use these APIs to read, collect, or store your existing content beyond what is required to operate the live broadcast you start.
Google API Services — Limited Use
PlayCam’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not allow humans to read it except where you explicitly request support, where required for security or to comply with law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service: your stream content is delivered to the broadcast destinations you connect (e.g., Facebook, YouTube); and we use service providers to operate the platform — including our hosting provider, our payment processor (to handle subscriptions and billing), and our email provider (to send account and transactional messages). These providers process information only to perform services for us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
5. Your choices & deleting your data
- Disconnect a channel: remove a Facebook or YouTube channel from your PlayCam dashboard at any time. This deletes the stored tokens for that channel. You can also revoke PlayCam’s access from your Facebook Business Integrations or Google Account permissions settings.
- Delete your account and data: email [email protected] with the subject “Data Deletion Request” from your account email, or use the in-app account deletion when available. We will delete your account, connected-channel tokens, and recordings within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.
6. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Connected-channel tokens are kept until you disconnect the channel or delete your account. Recordings are kept according to your plan’s storage terms or until you delete them. After account deletion we remove your data within 30 days, subject to legal retention needs.
7. Security
We protect data in transit with HTTPS and encrypt sensitive secrets — including connected-channel tokens — at rest using authenticated encryption. Passwords are stored only as salted, hashed values. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children, accounts are for adults only, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Minors may appear in content that account holders stream. Account holders — not affiBox — are responsible for obtaining verifiable parent or guardian consent before recording or streaming a minor, and for keeping such content private where consent for public distribution has not been given, as described in our Terms of Service. If you believe content involving a minor was streamed without proper consent, contact us at [email protected] and we will review it.
9. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. By using it, you understand your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where we or our providers operate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
